The WC début
Kristin's first start in the WC was on 16th March 2002 in Oslo.
Having reached good results in FIS races and National Championships (e.g. 4th in the 15 km C event),
she was chosen to start in Oslo in the national group.
Her task was to collect some experience she would need in her future career.
Kristin finished 46th in her debut race.
The first WSC
In the 2002/2003 season, she already scored some WC points.
It earned Kristin a place in the World Championships in Val di Fiemme.
Kristin finished twice in the Top30, but she did not start in the relay yet.
(Norway finished 2nd in the race.)
Things going well
Things went quite well in the 2003/2004 season, with some Top10 results in the WC.
Kristin became more consistent and scored WC points in no less than 9 races.
She finished 20th in WC Distant rankings.
A star is born
In the 2004/2005 season Kristin became a real star.
The first two WC podiums came, together with a success at the World Championships,
where Kristin won two medals.
It was the breakthrough season for Kristin.
She finished 12th in the overall WC rankings and 9th in Distant rankings.
